4Generate Your First Tool

Now comes the fun part - using AI to generate a custom tool!

Choose Your Target Platform

Select which software you want to create a tool for:

Blender
Revit
Rhino
SketchUp

Describe Your Tool

In plain English, describe what you want the tool to do. For example:

"Create a Blender tool that batch renames all selected objects by adding a prefix and suffix."

Pro Tip: Use Plan Mode

Enable Plan Mode to review and refine the approach before generating code. This helps ensure the AI understands your requirements correctly.

Generate the Code

Click "Generate" and watch as Claude AI creates your tool in real-time:

  • Creates workspace and metadata
  • Tool is ready to use!

5Use Your Tool

Open your design software and access your generated tool through the PegBoard loader.

Find the PegBoard Menu

Look for the PegBoard menu or panel in your software. The location varies by platform (toolbar, extensions menu, or sidebar).

Reload to See New Tools

After generating a tool, click the reload button in the PegBoard loader to refresh the tool list.

Run Your Tool

Select your tool from the list and run it. Each tool includes a description of what it does and any required inputs.
